High heels (pt. three)

In continuing last weeks post, I'll start up the countdown again of all my high heels.

10. These are wild things, but I love them. they were given to me by someone who knew I loved shoes, and these one's are definitely winners. They are from the brand "MIA" and have a cork cone heel and genuine leather sole's. they are open toe and are in size 8.

I actually don't wear these too often, partially because they are pretty hard to walk in. They slide around a lot and the heels seem like they would balance better if they were placed in a tiny bit better spot. It's hard to explain, but I know from experience it is not at all uncommon for heels to be off balance. I also don't wear these as often because of their obvious pattern that is hard to match, and because I have to have perfectly painted toenails to feel completely confident in this pair of shoes.

9. These are one of my two pairs of wedges. I love wedge heels because of their aesthetic mostly, they are not at all any easier to walk in than regular pumps, despite popular belief. This pair is actually more difficult then most high heels. Most likely because of their being to large for my feet, although wedges haven't in my experience been any easier to maneuver at all.

These are quite big actually, but I think it adds a lot of warmth and comfort. They are size 9 1/2 with about a four and a half inch heel. The fur is synthetic, as is the leather, and the brand is DECREE. They are holding together pretty well, as usual I acquired them via a secondhand store.

8. My other pair of wedges is a pair I almost always want to put on, but for practicality's sake I try not to wear them all the time.

They have a four inch heel, and a thick rubbery sole. They are in the size Women's 6, and are from the brand SimplyVera. These I also got secondhand, but they are in very good condition. There are two main problems with these shoes. One is that the zipper, since it is in the back, sticks a little and is a pain to try and get on. The other problem is that the heel is at a little too much of an incline.

The center of balance is a little bit off, so they are not as easy to walk in as they could be, but they really aren't that bad. It takes me up to five hours of wearing them and walking around in them until my feet are really sore.

7. These chunky heel, flip flop like, slip on shoes, are comfortable and quite practical in the summer, and I could never have asked for a better pair of shoes as a gift. the colours, although they may not be my personal favourite, are warm and friendly, and, at least for me, these shoes are very easy to walk in.

Now this brand is under high demand, and I can understand why. These Gianni Bini shoes are made with a real leather lining, and although they are by no means of the word new, their condition remains extraordinary. The balance is perfect and they are not too heavy like most high heeled slip on shoes become. These are size 7 1/2 and the heel is about three inches high. I try never to wear these with socks or stalkings, but I did discover, that they would look nice with black stalkings even if all others would totally ruin their appearance.

6. These open toes high heeled sandals, aren't holding together too well for how popular the brand is. Bandolino, is supposedly one of the most elite Italian shoe brands, but based on this one pair, I would discourage you from purchasing these for anything over $8. So if you find them for free, as I did, or in a secondhand store, and you really love the way they wear on you, that is great, but keep in mind they don't last long.

These three inch pumps in size 7 1/2 were barely used when I got them, but now, six mos. to a year later they are falling apart on me. The metallic bead-work is chipping and revealing cheap plastic clear beads, and the glue is turning brownish red colours. The elastic is also browning, and dead as it refuses to hold any elasticity at all. Plus they were quite uncomfortable to start with. They refuse to sit comfortably on your feet, and instead must constantly be adjusted so they aren't falling off. Imagine trying to pull you shoes all the way on every 20 minutes at some ritzy gala. Everyone would be disgusted by your constantly handling your feet, and you would feel awkward and self conscious regardless. So no, these shoes are getting my thumbs down. purchase at your own risk.

5. These are classic black mary jane pumps. They are Merona brand, and size 8 1/2, which is a little roomy for me, but I like the big foot look. I think it makes legs look more dainty.

The heels are about four inches high, and are a vinyl that matches the strap. The rest of the shoe is made of a faux sued. These, like almost all of my shoe collection, are secondhand, but these are really quite worn. I still ove them though, and am not ready to move on to a new pair of black pumps no matter how affordable they are. The heel is balanced very well, and altogether these shoes are super comfortable, and highly recommended as they go so well with all outfits.

4. These black kitten heels are not amoung my most often used shoes, but they are great all the same. Like the Black mary jane's, they are a little big on me, and are all the more comfortable because of it.

The heel is about two and a half inches tall, and the balance could be better, but it's nothing to complain about. besides the poor balance might be due to the slightly visible wear on the heels. These I got first hand about three years ago, and the wear isn't too bad, but like I said, it is visible. The lining is excellently padded and plush, they are again size 8 1/2 but are from the brand "Basic editions".

3. Okay, my only pair of stilettos come close to being my favourite pair of high heels that I own. I can in good conscience recommend their entire brand "Wild diva" as all of the experiences I have had with their shoes were good ones.

These heels are about four and a half inches high, and a little hard to walk in when you first put them on, but once you get used to them it isn't a chore at all. Like the last two pairs, these are also size 8 1/2, but unlike the last two pairs, these are a nice snug fit. What can I say, different brands have different ways of sizing up their shoes. These shoes are very formal, and really do give me an attitude just by wearing them. I love it, but I could understand if that is not your thing. and so I'll move on.

2. Cone heels are among the lesser known types of high heels. I appreciate them, altough it seems like very often, if not perfectly designed, they could be a real pain. These however are not.

These size 6 cone heels from the brand "Very Valitile," are super stylish. They are cool in the summer, and depending on your choice of "shoe undergarments" warm in the winter. The buckles and rivets are a modern working look, whike the cone heels suggest a woman with attitude and sophistication. The heel again, is about four and a half in. high, and not the most practical for outdoors activities. They are almost a little too tight on my feet in their current size, but the buckles are adjustable. That would be just another reason they are awesome. Like my grey wedges, however, these have a back zipper, which sticks. I have a theory that all back zippers stick, you can let me know what you think of that via the contact tab, or by commenting for me on my instagram.

Be sure to check up next week for the big reveal, my final and favourite pair of high heels!!!
