Casual Tips #2 shirts; men's tee's.

Sleeveless t-shirts, also known as tank tops, are a true compliment to muscular forms. My personal favourite, is a muscle shirt, or as some call it, a bro-tank. There have been many different types of shirts called muscle shirts, but technically this is the only one with that name.

You can see how it draws attention to the wing type muscles on you side and back. This type of shirt is great for blisteringly hot days, it really breathes and offers quite a bit in the "airflow" department. To sum it up these are great shirts for those days or occasions at which you would, by first chioce, be attending shirtless, but social propriety demands otherwise. These shirts are about your scantiest choice in men's casual shirts, surpassed by only one type of shirt. which I will be addressing later. Warning: The tank-top so named the "muscle-tee" should not be worn if you suffer from sun burns, or have a family history of skin cancer, or excess body hair.

Regular tank tops, or Standard tank tops, offer little variety. They come with different graphic designs, catchy phrases, stripes, or sports team logos. If they came in polka dot's I'd let you know.

They are good for outside clothes, and never as undershirts. For an undershirt, your best option is a so called "wife beater", please pardon my use of the crude nick name.

The wife beater is a ribbed thin material tank top, that comes only in the colours gray, black, and white. It should be worn for very casual events, such as mowing your back yard, or sitting on your couch, in the basement. Being a major character in an action film, would also be an appropriate time. If you are intending to wear them around in public, a solid coloured unbuttoned button up shirt would make it more acceptable.

Let me once again remind you though, that if you wanted to, you could go to a party dressed in a wife beater tank top. choose your own style, and base it only very slightly on what you think other people would think was right.

I think I've talked more than enough about tank tops now. It is time to move on to other tee shirts.

There are three different sleeve lengths you should know about, and you probably do, but I'll run them off anyway.

1: short sleeves, they come about halfway up your arm from your elbow.

2: 3/4 sleeves, which come down just past your elbow, or sometime a little further.

3: long sleeves, come all the way down to your hand, and sometimes cover it as well. it depends on what size you are, or what look you are going for.

When you're wearing a short sleeved tee shirt, you should try to choose one big enough that the hem of the sleeves don't stick out to one side like a wing.

Don't get me wrong, this guy has a lot going for him in the looks department. alas you can see how the sleeves leave him looking lacking in something.

Sleeves like that would be all well and good on a women's outfit, but it is much more comely of a man, to have closely fitted sleeves to his arms. At least the part of the sleeve closer to the shoulder.

There is very little variety in 3/4 sleeves, so it's hard to go wrong.

Don't be afraid to be adventurous with this one to create your own spices for the look. Try layers of shirts, or suspenders. Try something new, something that you may have never tried before. How will you know you don't like it until you've tried it at least once.

Long sleeves are great to give you that long lean look. They add independence to any fashion collage. As especially in the middle seasons, for some unspoken reason, they are avoided.

Tee shirts are cool enough regardless of the sleeve length, due to their thin comfortable cloth. A long sleeved black shirt adds mystique and elegance, while a 3/4 sleeve in a lighter tone without accessories makes you look hometown and quaint.

It is time for me to move onto necklines.

Droop necklines are daring, and best worn casually, with long dark coloured casual pants like skinny jeans. Only wear a drooping neckline if there's something about your chest that is particularly attractive since it draws quite a bit of attention. This could be any of a great number of things, spectacular pectoral muscles, a prominent sternum, a bit of masculine chest hair, or even an irresistibly fair complexion could be qualifiers for being able to pull off a neckline like this.

V-necks, weather they be more low cut or high, are very fashionable today, and compliment most male body types. They bring out angular features such as muscles or harshly broad shoulders, and even compliment very slim men, as they make the shoulders look wider.

Regular round collars on men's tee shirts can be very appealing. Keep in mind though, that if you don't have too dramatic of a natural shape yourself and it appears as if the shirt is fitted to your body, a rounder neckline can make you look rounder.

Actually that picture may be a really bad example, but I wanted to slip it in there anyway. Lucky Blue Smith is one of my, if not my, top favourite model.

Last, but not least, today I'd like to talk about my favourite type of material for a tee shirt, black mesh. It is a bit more of a formal look, but since it isn't in usual fashions or sold by retail, if you are wearing it, you are almost defying normal fashion rules already.

Everything I like about this seems like it would already be apparent so I won't go on about it, but I encourage you to try and purchase a shirt like this so we can start the trend. The material is cool, and easy to layer. It brings out all they contours of your body. It looks great with all different types of pants(yes all), and the best part is you would only have to add something to it to make it into the same style as your favourite kind of shirt as well. I guess unless your favourite type of shirt style is simplistic and un-layered, with only bright colours, and never the elegance of black.

I'd like to add, that at least one of each kind of shirt in your favourite neckline, would make for a perfect collection of tee shirts for your personal informal occasions.

Lastly, if you ever do come across a black mesh shirt, regardless of the neckline or sleeve length, at least try it on. If you at all like the way it looks, even if you don't think you'd ever find the right time to wear it. Please buy it at add it to your collection of fashion items.
