How to choose the best glasses for you (frame colours and width)
When It comes time for people to choose a pair of glasses, the time will come for almost every one of us, there are a lot of things that must go into consideration.
First off there is the question of what kind of lifestyle you lead. Are you a very active person, or do you prefer more quiet types of daily activities such as reading? How often will you actually be wearing your glasses? is your prescription of a stronger nature that you must wear to perform all daily activities, or will you be able to get by with just wearing them at short increments once or twice a day? Will you be getting more than one pair of glasses, or will you have to rely on this one pair every day to express all of your personal style and match well with all your clothes? Do you have a more artistic out-from-the-crowd personality, or a sophisticated blending in with fashion type? How Will you be able to wear your hair to match your glasses well and visa-versa.
This post, and the one prior, will hopefully be able to help you choose just the right pair, or pairs, of glasses. How to choose the best glasses for you pt. 1
In the image above, I am wearing my newest pair of sunglasses. They are styles after the glasses of the fashion and music icon Tyler Joseph, from the band, Twenty one pilots. The dark round lenses and white frames offer a fantasy like taste. They also ensure the aesthetic of large round eyes and a toned down smaller nose and mouth. Most wide framed glasses will do this, with a few exceptions.
Tip 1, it is good to avoid thick framed round glasses if you have trouble eyebrows, or if the nose piece interferes with your natural eyebrow line, creating a monster.
when asking yourself if you want thick framed glasses, the number one question should be, are they appropriate for your eyebrows. Alas, be bold. you know best how you want to look, so wear what you're comfortable with. Here are some examples of round lens glasses, and even thick frames, that were pulled off perfectly.
In this first image, we see a lovely lady, in low quality, with gold frames round glasses. The wire frames are a great match for her, since she has very fair hair, and eyebrows that are already quite pronounced.
Tip 2, if you are going to have to wear your glasses all day every day, it would be a good idea to have at least one boring pair. If you want to have a slightly more wild, or statement pair, than you should try to own two pairs.
The girl above has matched her messy light brunette hairstyle and perfectly accentuated eyes by wearing plastic spotted framed glasses that rest far enough down on her nose that they have no way of interfering with her brows.
In the lovely image above, both Robert Downey Jr, and Johnny Depp, are both sporting round thick framed darkly coloured glasses. In Downey's case, the glasses contrast his angular chin, thus drawing attention to his mouth. In the case of Depp, the dark frames contrast his skin, and really bring out his facial hair, and angular cheekbones
Tip 3, When choosing glasses, think about how much makeup you will be wearing. If you have a smokey eye look, or any heavier made up look; lighter frames are recommended you so as not to take away from the glory of your eyes.
Half frame glasses, are about the hottest frame out there, and they come in all varieties of colours from bright red to spotted black and brown. They look good on virtually all head shapes, and with all lengths of hair! They do look best though with shorter, hair or hair that is more often than not, pulled back away from the face or put up.
Tip 4, leopard print glasses are the best if you happen to have red, or reddish brown hair. there are few people who can wear them and still look perfectly natural and stylish with the blunt pattern, so if you can, go for it!
That's about all I have for you on glasses. just remember with all the frames colours and different types of lens materials, there's probably a lot I have missed. If there's anything you need to know that you don't see here, let me know and ask away. I'd love to be able to help. Thanks!
